Membership
The Builder Membership: Any individual who is or has been engaged or employed by a firm or corporation in the business of building or rebuilding homes, apartments, schools, commercial, industrial or other structures normally related and appurtenant to a community, or in land development who subscribes to the Code of Ethics of this Association shall be eligible to be a builder member.
Yearly membership is $595.00.
The Associate Membership: Any individual who is or has been engaged by a firm or corporation engaged in a trade, industry, or profession related to the building industry and not inconsistent with the objectives of this Association, who subscribes to the Code of Ethics of this Association, shall be eligible to be an associate member.
Yearly membership is $495.00.
The Affiliate Membership: Current Builder or Associate member companies can increase its presence and participation in the association by providing employees the opportunity to join as an Affiliate member with all of the benefits of the HBA of Sarasota County and the National Association of Home Builders. By joining as an affiliate member, employees are eligible to participate in all functions of the organization and will receive regular communications regarding issues and events of interest to our membership. In addition, they will receive Nation’s Building News, Builder Magazine, be listed on www.BuildingSarasota.com and may serve on important association committees including the Board of Directors if so elected by the membership.
Yearly membership is $125.00
Code of Ethics
All members of the Association agree to observe and be bound by the following Code of Ethics:
- Homeownership can and should be within the reach of every American family.
- American homes should be well designed, well constructed, and well located in attractive communities with educational, recreational, religious and shopping facilities accessible to all.
- American homes should be built under the free American enterprise system.
- The member’s paramount responsibility is to the customer, the community and the country.
- Honesty is our guiding business policy.
- High standards of health, safety and sanitation shall be built into every home.
- Members shall deal fairly with their respective employees, subcontractors and suppliers.
- As members of a progressive industry, we encourage research to develop new materials, new building techniques, new building equipment and improved methods of home financing to the end that every home purchaser may get the greatest value possible for every dollar.
- All sound legislative proposals affecting our industry and the public we serve shall have our informed and vigorous support.
- We hold inviolate the free enterprise system and the American way of life. We pledge our support to our associates and to our local and national associations and all related industries concerned with the preservation of legitimate rights and freedoms. We assume these responsibilities freely and solemnly, mindful that they are part of our obligation as members of the Sarasota Home Builders Association. I/We agree by signing our application to abide by the Constitution, By-Laws, and Code of Ethics of the Homes Builders Association of Sarasota County, Inc., the National Home Builders Association and the Florida Homes Builders Association.
